Watch for our capable traffic team to give directions.

The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office has given us these suggestions to follow in order for everyone to stay safe:

1.  Ride only with family members or persons with  whom you have direct contact on a regular basis.

2.  Once at Hopewell, STAY in the car –only assigned persons should be out of their cars.

3.  Wear your mask.

A “reservation” surely isn’t required, but in order for us to plan, it will be helpful for us to know if you plan to come.

You can let us know by responding to emails

or calling Jeanene or Angela.

Women of the Bible - February 22, 2020

On Saturday, February 22nd, 2020, four significant women from scripture will visit Hopewell United Methodist Church.

Their stories will be told by Dr. Vivia Fowler, President of Wesleyan College in Macon.  Dr. Fowler is an ordained United Methodist Minister, and long-time Bible scholar and professor.  Her passion is to bring to life women from the Old and New Testaments, and to help us gain a greater understanding of their lives and times.   Dr. Fowler does extensive, in-depth research, seeks to “get inside” the hearts and minds of these ladies, and writes their scripts.  In period dress, she will become their mouthpieces to tell their stories; remaining in character, she will take and answer questions as they might have.

The day will include worship and fellowship, and lunch will be served.  We hope you will come to Fellowship, Learn, Worship and Be Inspired.  Please invite others – perhaps even sponsor and offer to bring them with you.

 SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 22ND, 8:30 – 2:00

Hopewell United Methodist Church 188 Hopewell Church Road NW Milledgeville, GA  31061

The registration fee of $15.00 can be paid that day, but a reservation is needed to reserve your spot.  To make your reservation, or for more information, contact:

McElheney Fundraiser - February 9, 2020

Alan McElheney, age 57, the son of Charlene and Jimmy McElheney of Milledgeville was living out his retirement dreams with his wife Marty just 13 months ago. All that changed after three strokes then one doozy of a fourth stroke that changed their world and future. Alan is doing well with his recovery; however, he is unable to say what his brain is thinking. The Shepherd Center in Atlanta has recommended the Aphasia Center Intensive Treatment Program in Saint Petersburg, Florida, to aid in addressing this issue. Insurance does not cover this $30,000 six-week personalized treatment plan.

Hopewell United Methodist and Westview Baptist Churches have joined forces to raise money for this worthwhile cause. A BBQ fundraiser will be held on Sunday, February 9th, at Hopewell United Methodist Church, at 12:30 pm following the Sunday service. The meal will include pork BBQ, baked beans, coleslaw, pickle, bread, and homemade pound cake and is available for either dining in at Hopewell or take-out.  If you are picking up your meal, the pick-up line will be open from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm.  Delivery service will be available for eight or more meals at the same location.

Tickets go on sale Sunday, January 13th for $10.00. Tickets can be purchased from members of Hopewell United Methodist Church and Westview Baptist Church or by calling Brad Oliver at 478.363.1013 or Gail Oliver at 478.363.1012.
